Hon Peter Collier asks about the number of infringements, revenue collected, and appeals related to firearms licence renewal failures in WA for 2016-2018. The WA Police Force provides a caveat regarding the data's accuracy due to automatic withdrawal of infringements upon licence renewal before service.

In relation to firearms licence renewals, I ask: (a) how many infringements have been issued for failure to renew a firearms licence for each year of 2016, 2017 and 2018; (b) how much revenue has been collected as a result of infringements issued for failure to renew a firearms licence for each year of 2016, 2017 and 2018; and (c) how many appeals have Western Australia Police received for infringements issued for failure to renew a firearms licence for each year of 2016, 2017 and 2018?

The Western Australian Police Force advise:
Information as at 5 December 2018.
Note: When a firearm infringement is issued by the system, it is forwarded to the relevant police station for personal service. Should a firearm licence holder make a payment prior to service of the infringement, it is then automatically withdrawn from the system as they have renewed their firearm licence but it is still recorded as being an infringement issued.
