ROE
HIGHWAY STAGE 8 — ABORIGINAL CULTURAL MATERIAL COMMITTEE
1037. Hon LYNN MacLAREN to the
Minister for Aboriginal Affairs:
I refer to questions without notice 578 asked on 18 September
2013 and 1018 asked on 17 September 2015.
(1) Will the
minister table the section 18 notice, the Aboriginal Cultural Material
Committee's recommendation and any other advice he received relating to
the Roe 8 application, following relevant notification from the Minister for
Environment?
(2) Will the
minister table any other advice, including briefing notes he has received about
Roe 8 Aboriginal heritage application, since January 2013 to the present?
(3) With
reference to the minister's reassurance in 2013 that any approvals in
relation to Roe 8 that would impact remotely on Aboriginal heritage would
undergo a forensic process, will the minister give details of the forensic
process used to assess, decline and later give approval to disturb registered
mythological site DAA 3079, including a time line of this process?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question. This question asks for an enormous amount of information, I have to
say, and it has been asked without notice. Normally I would ask the member to
put it on notice but I will not. I will get the information as soon as I can.
But for a question, with all due respect, that requires this amount of
information, I think the member has to give us more than three hours. It refers
to a pile of briefing notes, a pile of tables, advice and a whole raft of
things. I think it is unreasonable to give three hours to get this sort of
information, but I will provide it whenever I can.
