Principals now have increased autonomy regarding how they spend their schools’ one-line budgets and how many staff they employ. 2016 calendar year FTE levels will fluctuate from pay period to pay period. In particular, FTE levels are higher during term and lower during vacation.
As at 16 June 2016, paid FTE levels in schools were:
(a) Education Assistants – 7,614
(b) Registrars (now titled Managers Corporate Services) – 807
(c) Cleaners – 1,904
(d) Gardeners – 607
(e) any other non-teaching staff (excluding Managers Corporate Services) – 3,072
All other non-teaching staff includes school officers, administrative and clerical staff in schools.
