JOINT SELECT COMMITTEE ON PALLIATIVE CARE IN
WESTERN AUSTRALIA —ESTABLISHMENT
214. Hon MARTIN ALDRIDGE to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the consideration of the
Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill 2019 and the amendment to insert new clause 160A
moved by Hon Nick Goiran for Parliament to establish a joint standing committee
on palliative care in Western Australia and, as an alternative, Hon Stephen
Dawson's commitment for the government to support the establishment of
a joint select committee.
(1) What is the status of that
commitment to the Legislative Council by Hon Stephen Dawson?
(2) When is it anticipated that the
committee be established?
(3) When is it anticipated that the
committee report?
(4) How many members of each house
are proposed to comprise the committee's membership?
(5) What is the
expected cost of the joint select committee and will the government fund the
committee's operations, given it was a government commitment to form
such a committee?
