I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) Since 1 January 2003, approximately 39 200 sheep on 115 properties have been inspected and tested for OJD in Western Australia. (2) (i) Eighteen properties, carrying approximately 113 700 sheep, have tested positive for OJD since 1 January 2003. (ii) Fifteen of these known infected properties have property disease management programs in place, and two are under quarantine restrictions. The Department of Agriculture is liaising with the owner of the remaining property. (3) (a) Approximately $400 000 has been allocated to the management of OJD in the current financial year. (b) An amount of $126 000 has been identified for the management of OJD in the 2004-05 financial year budget. (c) An amount of $66 000 has been identified for the management of OJD in the 2005-06 financial year. I need to say, having given these figures, particularly those relating to the forward estimates years, that these figures will be highly dependent on the management decisions that are made in respect of OJD. I am happy to discuss those decisions with the member, or at least the options that we are considering at this stage. Those decisions will obviously determine the funding needs in the out years, and these figures may not remotely represent what will actually be spent.
