The Minister for Environment has provided the following response.
(1) No. The Department of Parks and Wildlife did however have an ongoing management responsibility for three prescribed burns in the Walpole area that were commenced between 6 June and 26 September 2014. Additional ignitions were applied at all three prescribed burns with the last of the ignitions occurring on 15 January 2015, 15 days prior to the commencement of the Northcliffe bushfire on 30 January 2015.
