(1) I refer to the processing of applications under the Criminal Injuries Compensation Act 2003 , and ask for 2015-16, how many applications were received? (2) How many full-time equivalent criminal injuries compensations assessors and administration or clerical staff were employed in the Office of Criminal Injuries Compensation to process applications in 2015-16? (3) How many applications were ceased in accordance with the section 10 of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Act 2003 in 2015-16? (4) What was the average time for processing applications in 2015-16? (5) How many appeals were lodged by victims of an offence, and how many by an offender, in relation to a decision of a criminal injuries compensation assessor in 2015-16?

(1) 2,769 applications were received between 1 July 2015 and 30 June 2016.
(2) For the period 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016, three assessors and 9.2 of the 17.2 administrative staff of the Office of Criminal Injuries Compensation were employed in the processing of applications.
(3) The Department of the Attorney General advises that no applications are recorded as ceased in accordance with section 10 of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Act 2003 (WA) for the period 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016.
(4) As at 30 June 2016 the average time for processing applications was 7.2 months.
(5) For the period 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016, 15 appeals were lodged by victims of an offence and 11 appeals were lodged by offenders in relation to a decision of a criminal injuries compensation assessor.
NOTE: The figures provided above for questions (1)-(5) are for the 2015-16 financial year (1 July 2015 – 30 June 2016).
