(a) RisKCover reports that 22 mobile phones were stolen or lost for the six months to 30 June 2007.
(b) The total estimate for the 22 mobiles to date is $14 100. An amount of $7 456 has been paid and $6 644 remains outstanding pending further enquiries by RiskCover.
(c) Yes
(d) Employees are required to report their loss of stolen items to police at the earliest practical opportunity upon the discovery of the theft.
(e) Refer (a) and (b) above.
(f) The reporting of stolen mobile phones to police is part of the claims procedure.
(g-h) The Department's employees must comply with government policy on the management of assets, specifically: the
School Education Act 1999
and the
Financial Administration and Audit Act 1985
and Treasurer's
