I have a supplementary question.
Yesterday, the Minister for Police said, ''Police are not part of that
legislation''. Why did the Premier not require his minister to apologise
for misleading the house at the earliest opportunity?

The employment of police is not under the Public Sector Management Act; they
are not public servants. Therefore, there are different rules applying to
police, but the application of wages in the industrial tribunals will apply to
police, as it applies to anyone who is employed within government.
