I thank the member
for some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided to me
by the Minister for Police.
(1) It commenced on 12
May 2025. Operation Saya's objective is to coordinate a police and key
partnership response—prevention and enforcement—to antisocial
behaviour and criminal activity.
(2) Operation Saya is utilising police from
Mirrabooka police district, the regional operations group, the road policing
group, the mounted section and police air wing. There is no WA Police Force
equipment being dedicated to the operation, nor specific ongoing cost to
Operation Saya that is over and above normal policing effort.
(3) Operation Saya is currently ongoing and is reviewed
weekly.
