PUBLIC HOUSING — WAITLIST
1230. Hon Dr BRAD PETTITT to the minister representing the
Minister for Housing:
I refer to the wait-turn and
priority public housing waitlist.
(1) How many applicants and
individuals were on each list at the end of September 2023?
(2) How many applicants and
individuals in (1) receive the disability support payment?
(3) On what date did the applicant who has been
waiting for the longest on each waitlist initially join the waitlist?
(4) As the inquiry into the financial administration
of homelessness services in Western Australia recommended, will the minister recommit to the monthly
publication of a housing dashboard of key housing statistics like these
without the need for non-government MPs to use up questions during question
time?

I am answering this question on
behalf of the Minister for Agriculture and Food, who represents the Minister
for Housing. I am not quite sure that the member read out the third part
entirely as it is written in front of me, but I am sure that Hansard will pick
that up.
I thank the member for some notice
of the question.
(1) Verified data
for September is not available until 17 October. As at 31 August 2023, there
were 19 030 applications on the public housing waitlist statewide, representing
34 048 people. This includes 4 835 priority applications, representing 9 496
people.
(2)–(4) Please refer to
