Family and domestic violence—Offenders—GPS
tracking
909. Hon Michelle Boylan to the minister representing the Minister for Police:
I refer to GPS
tracking in Western Australia and advice from the Commissioner of Corrective
Services that tracking for family and domestic violence offenders cannot be
safely operated in the regions.
(1) How will WA police protect victims in areas
where GPS monitoring is not supported because of unacceptable risks with
response times?
(2) Does the government have a target date or
timeline to deliver a GPS tracking system that is capable of operating
statewide?
(3) If yes to (2), what is the date or timeline?
