WESTERN AUSTRALIAN PLANNING COMMISSION —
BUFFER ZONES — GAS PIPELINES
1019. Hon SALLY TALBOT to the Minister
for Planning:
My question has done the rounds a bit
and I hope it has ended up with the Minister for Planning. I refer to
regulations governing the required buffer zones for rural and residential land
adjacent to gas pipelines.
(1) What changes have been made to
the size of buffer zones in the last 12 months?
(2) Which entity
has responsibility for these regulations and what investigation did it
undertake to investigate the impacts that these changes would have on
landowners and farm access?
(3) How many
individual properties and future subdivisions in the Serpentine area have been
impacted by recent regulation changes that increase the size of buffer zones?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for some notice
of the question.
(1)–(2) The
Western Australian Planning Commission planning bulletin 87 recommends setbacks
from gas pipelines and there have been no changes to these setbacks in the past
12 months.
(3) Not applicable.
