With reference to the decision to increase the base pay and superannuation entitlements of Western Power executives in lieu of performance bonuses, will the Minister explain why neither he nor the board informed the Western Australian public of the decision between June 2011 and its revelation by the Opposition in August 2011, and will the Minister table the advice he received from the Chairman of Western Power on 22 June 2011?

Western Power makes a large number of commercial and operational decisions on an ongoing basis. The Western Power Board fully complies with its obligation to publicly disclose each Executive's remuneration in each financial year's annual report. I note that the change resulted in an average decrease in maximum remuneration of approximately 9 per cent.
Consistent with my response to a similar parliamentary question raised by
the Hon Helen Bullock on 17 August 2011, advice obtained by Western Power's Board will not be produced due to confidentiality and client-lawyer privilege.
