PUBLIC TRANSPORT AUTHORITY - CAPITAL WORKS PROGRAM
I refer to the request by the cabinet expenditure review committee for all agencies to review their capital works programs, including a rigorous assessment of the viability of deferring between 20 per cent and 25 per cent of the planned 2007-08 building construction works. (1) When was this request conveyed to the Public Transport Authority? (2) Has the rigorous assessment of the PTA’s building construction works commenced in accordance with the ERC directive? With your indulgence, Mr President, there are another three identical questions relating to other agencies. If the answers to those questions are identical, perhaps the parliamentary secretary might consider tabling those to save time. Hon ADELE FARINA

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. (1)-(2) The deliberations of cabinet, including cabinet subcommittees, are confidential but the minister assures the member that the presumption contained in the question is entirely wrong.
