CENTENNIAL
PARK SPORTING PRECINCT — ALBANY
624. Mr P.B. WATSON to the
Minister for Sport and Recreation:
I have a supplementary question. The
previous Minister for Sport and Recreation —
Mr
B.J. Grylls interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Pilbara, I call you to order for the first time.
Mr
P.B. WATSON : I have just realised that the member for Pilbara is still
alive!
The previous Minister for Sport and
Recreation wrote a letter at the time the last lot of funding came out saying
that we were next in line. The City of Albany is waiting for this development,
as there are a lot of issues with it in Albany at the moment. The one thing the
city really needs is the money and we continually get fobbed off. When are we
going to get the money? No false promises!

AnswerView source ↗

As I said, since we came to government we have been very
proud of the investment we have made into the sporting community. My answer to
the member's supplementary question has not changed from the previous
answer. I told the mayor, who asked me in a public forum, that it is under
consideration. We have not yet reached the next state election and so there is
no broken promise.
Mr
P.B. Watson interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Albany, I call you to order for the first time. A quick
answer, please, minister.
Ms M.J. DAVIES : I
have finished, Mr Speaker.
