ROBERT
HICKS — GOLDFIELDS–ESPERANCE DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
86. Hon STEPHEN DAWSON to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Regional Development:
I refer to the former chief
executive officer of the Goldfields–Esperance Development Commission,
Mr Robert Hicks, and his reported comments on ABC radio last week in which he
said, ''I haven't been asked to step down, I haven't
been asked to resign, I've been told that I will go ''.
(1) How was Mr
Hicks removed from his position as the development commission's CEO and
who specifically removed Mr Hicks from his position as CEO?
(2) Will Mr Hicks
be paid out for the term of his contract; and, if so, what is that amount?
(3) Will any
additional payments be made to Mr Hicks; and, if so, what are those amounts?
(4) Has Mr Hicks
been offered another position within government; and, if so, which position?
(5) Can the
minister confirm who has been appointed acting CEO and for what period, and
will that person be Kalgoorlie based or commuting from another location?
