Huawei products and components are used by a range of companies in Australia including Optus, Vodafone and TPG. For example, Optus and Vodafone use Huawei equipment and technology as part of their 4G and 3G networks, and the Public Transport Authority has entered into a Proof of Concept Agreement with Optus for a free Wi-Fi trial with Huawei supplying off the shelf components including network routers, access points, and switches to Optus.
In relation to projects where Huawei has been specifically contracted by the Government:
(a) Radio Systems Replacement Program
(b) Digital radio system
(c) One of the entities forming the Contractor (along with UGL Engineering Pty Ltd)
(d) System designer, technology provider and system integrator
(e) $205.728 million – design, build and maintenance
