❓ Hon. Alison Xamon asks the Minister for Mental Health about introducing a carer consultant model in WA hospitals, similar to Victoria's, to improve carer involvement in the mental health system. I refer to carers of people with mental illness, and the need for carers to be able to play a genuine and effective role within the mental health care system, and I ask -
(1) Will the Minister consider introducing an institutional-level carer consultant model, similar to that in place in Victoria, with at least one carer consultant engaged in each Western Australian hospital?
(2) If yes to (1), when?
(3) If no to (1), why not?
