HEALTH — AMBULANCE RAMPING
1367. Hon MARTIN ALDRIDGE to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the answer to Legislative Council question on
notice 2492 in which the Minister for Health stated that the Department of
Health would liaise with St John Ambulance to see whether regional ambulance
ramping data can be provided and published.
(1) Have
discussions between the Department of Health and St John Ambulance progressed,
and is the data now available for public release on a regular basis?
(2) If no to (1), why is this data withheld from
public knowledge when similar metropolitan-based information is readily
available on a daily basis?
(3) Does the
contract with St John Ambulance specifically require metropolitan ambulance
ramping data to be provided?
(4) Is the minister committed to accessing and
publishing this data in the name of transparency and accountability?

applicable.
(3) Yes.
(4) The
minister is committed to providing public reporting related to the timeliness
of patient handover from ambulance crews to hospital emergency department staff
for both metropolitan and regional sites.
