560. Hon Rod Caddies to
the parliamentary secretary representing the
Treasurer:
I refer to the
recent Auditor General's report in relation to government IT projects.
(1) Of the IT projects listed in the Auditor
General's report, how many have had their project management partially or
completely outsourced to consulting firms?
(2) How many of the government IT projects
referenced in the Auditor General's report include offshoring work to be
performed outside Australia?
(3) How many government IT systems operated by
government departments and government trading enterprises utilise day-to-day
system support delivered by offshore service providers?

answer on behalf of the Treasurer.
(1)–(3) The Department of Treasury does
not hold this information. This information would need to be sought from the
agencies responsible for each of those projects.
