I refer to the State Government's planning and establishment of Child and Parent Centres in Western Australia and I ask: (a) was consideration given to the establishment of a Child and Parent Centre in Broome; (b) if yes to (a), can the Minister advise if a planning report was prepared into the feasibility of a Child and Parent Centre in Broome, and if so can the Minister table a copy of the report; (c) if no to (a), why was Broome not considered as a site for a Child and Parent Centre; and (d) for what reason did the State Government determine that the Kimberley should not receive a Child and Parent Centre?

(a) Yes.
(b) A planning report was not developed.
(c) Not applicable.
(d) The locations of Child and Parent Centres were the subject of Cabinet decisions. The deliberations leading to these decisions are subject to Cabinet confidentiality.
It is noted that three Commonwealth Children and Family Centres were established in the Kimberley region.
