methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus
Is the minister aware that Western Australia has previously prided itself on not having methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus in this State? Mr DAY

AnswerView source ↗

It is my understanding that, generally speaking, the incidence of methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus has been at very low levels in Western Australia. I am not aware of any particular problem that may exist at any specific hospital in Western Australia, whether it be Joondalup or anywhere else. I am making inquiries to determine whether any problem is known to the Health Department. Nothing has been previously raised with me in this respect.
