(1) Initial consultation with the school bus industry regarding concerns with the Composite Rate Model (CRM) school bus contract, as implemented by the previous Government, indicate that there is a need for a formal transparent consultative process to review these concerns.
To achieve this, a detailed Issues Paper will be distributed to all CRM contractors, peak school bus industry bodies, and other key stakeholders, including Education bodies. There will be a three month response period in which submissions supported by data will be received. Recommendations arising from this review will be considered by Government with decisions expected in October/November 2010.
