I refer to the underground bus station in the Northbridge Link project and I ask: (a) will compressed natural gas buses be permitted to use the underground bus station; (b) Is there a safety case for the use of compressed natural gas buses of this underground bus station; (c) If yes, is the safety case included in a document, and what is the name of that document; and (d) has the safety case been revised since the bus fire at the Esplanande Busport on 15 July 2015?

(a) Yes.
(b) The basis of design and construction for the Perth Busport always required the design to cater for CNG buses; therefore no specific safety case has been prepared. Given the event that occurred at Esplanade Busport on 15 July 2015, the design and fire engineering for the Busport have been reviewed and the adequacy of the design was confirmed.
(c)-(d) Not applicable
