Family and domestic violence refuge units—Geraldton
642. Mrs Kirrilee Warr to
the Minister for Prevention of Family and
Domestic Violence:
I have a
supplementary question. Can the minister guarantee that no woman in Geraldton
will be turned away from a refuge because her government cut the number of
promised units?

AnswerView source ↗

Member, I would look
at your side before I started throwing rocks about numbers. We have had to
substantially increase the number of refuges. Since we got in, we have
increased the number of refuges by 41% because investment was so woefully
lacking when the member's side was in power that we had to do a lot of work
just to get up to where we are now. Additionally, we have 91 refuges in the
pipeline for delivery to keep Western Australians safe.
