SAFEWA APP — ACCESS — POLICE INVESTIGATION
886. Hon NICK GOIRAN to the minister representing the
Minister for Police:
I refer to the evidence provided by
the Commissioner of Police to the Standing Committee on Estimates and Financial
Operations that the first time he became aware that officers had sought orders
to produce SafeWA app records was on or around 26 February 2021, and that the
first time he raised the issue with the Minister for Police was by a briefing
note provided on 14 May 2021.
(1) Did the
Commissioner of Police ever raise this issue with the Minister for Police who
immediately preceded the current minister?
(2) If yes to (1), when?
(3) Will the minister table the
briefing note of 14 May 2021?
