I refer to the State Government’s collection of royalties from the extraction and sale of minerals and resources in Western Australia, and I ask: (a) Please provide, for each of the last ten financial years (2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24, and 2024-25): (i) a breakdown of total royalty revenue by individual mineral/resource category (e.g. iron ore, gold, lithium, nickel, LNG, etc.), specifying both the total tonnage on which royalties were assessed and the total dollar amount collected; and (ii) for each mineral/resource category, a further breakdown by individual company, specifying: (A) the name of the company; (B) the tonnage attributed to that company; and (C) the dollar amount of royalties collected from that company; and (b) For each of the above years, where royalty collections are subject to State Agreement Acts rather than the general royalty regime: (i) identify the company and the mineral/resource concerned; (ii) specify the tonnage and dollar value collected; and (iii) state whether any royalty concessions, discounts, deferrals, or rebates were applied and, if so, the value of such concessions; (c) Where any companies are listed as joint ventures or partnerships, please state whether royalty data is reported on a joint venture basis or attributed proportionally to the participating companies; and if the latter, please specify the breakdown; and (d) Please confirm whether the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration (DMPE) maintains this data in a readily extractable form from its royalty collection system; and if not, detail how such records are stored and reconciled against Treasury’s reported royalty revenue?
