I refer the Minister to the Corruption and Crime Commission (CCC) briefings held in the Pilbara between 15 March 2009 and 19 March 2009 for government agencies on dealing with conflicts of interest and understanding misconduct, and I ask:
(a) in light of the Public Sector Commissioner’s report detailing failings in Tourism Western Australia’s handling of actual conflicts of interest, will the Minister ensure that agency staff within her portfolios in the Pilbara attend these briefings;
(b) how many staff in the Minister’s agencies will attend the briefings; and
(c) how many staff, and from which agencies, have attended other briefings by the CCC in Perth and the regions, and on what dates?

(a) & (b) Tourism Western Australia did not have any staff based in the Pilbara at the time the Corruption and Crime Commission (CCC) briefings were held. The Rottnest Island Authority does not have staff in the Pilbara. Conflict of Interest training for all Tourism Western Australia staff was provided by contractor, Oars Across The Waters in March and is continuing during April 2010.
(c) One Rottnest Island Authority staff member attended a CCC briefing on 29 October 2008.
