CANNABIS — LEGALISATION
10. Hon Dr BRIAN WALKER to the Leader of the House
representing the Premier:
I
refer to a YouGov survey published in mid-January this year that showed that 50
per cent of voters across Australia support the Legalise Cannabis Party's
approach to the legal home growth of cannabis, with only 31 per cent opposed.
(1) What plans does the Cook
government have to address this issue in 2024?
(2) If, as I suspect,
the answer is no plans, can the Premier explain to the house why his government
appears determined to ignore public opinion in favour of an outdated and failed
prohibitionist model?

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1)–(2) There
have been no changes to the government's position on cannabis laws.
