AGRICULTURE
— DOPPLER RADAR
1144. Hon NIGEL HALLETT to the
Minister for Agriculture and Food:
The Minister for Agriculture and Food advised that a report
commissioned by the Department of Agriculture and Food WA to provide the state
government with information on the benefits and costs arising from the
introduction of Doppler radar was due to be finalised by the end of September.
(1) Could the minister please advise whether the consultant's
report has been completed?
(2) If yes to (1), when will the details contained in this
report be made public?
(3) If no to
(1), what is the reason for the delay and when is the consultant likely to
complete this report?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) The consultant's report has not been finalised.
(2) The details in this report will be made public when the
document has been finalised.
(3) The
principal factor behind the delay in the completion of the report has been the
difficulty in sourcing information on the capital and operational costs of
Doppler radars. It is anticipated that the report will be completed by the end of
October.
