a) The Elective Placement Service provides funding on an individual patient approval basis to Peel Health Campus (PHC) for some elective surgery patients. In 2005/06 it provided and is providing an allocation of $1,898,400.60. Monthly Expenditure (actual and planned) is: Month Expenditure (actual and planned)$ Jul-05 230,728 Aug-05 122,445 Sep-05 121,040 Oct-05 145,231 Nov-05 209,563 Dec-05 113,094 Jan-06 141,826 Feb-06 184,019 Mar-06 225,598 Apr-06 123,149 May-06 170,950 Jun-06 110,757 TOTAL 1,898,400 b) In addition to the above, the general contract amounts paid to the operator of PHC would include provision for elective surgery. The contract does not specify a monthly budget. It provides an annual allocation. The annual allocation covers primarily all medical, paediatric, obstetric and surgical activity. Surgical activity is not split between elective and emergency cases. The operator is responsible for managing the activity. 2. See point b) above.
