URANIUM MINING - PROHIBITION
I refer to the state Australian Labor Party’s stated intention to introduce legislation to ban the mining of uranium in light of the increasing pressure to mine uranium in Western Australia. (1) When will the government legislate to prohibit the mining of uranium in Western Australia? (2) Will the minister explain what has caused this legislation to be delayed for more than five years? (3) Is this delay because of concerns about possible compensation claims? Hon KIM CHANCE
