In 1999-00 the DoH provided funds for teaching/research to the Metropolitan Health Service Board (MHSB) for the teaching hospitals; Royal Perth Hospital, Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital, Fremantle Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital and King Edward Memorial Hospital. (3)-(4) The general allocation for teaching/research from the DoH for teaching hospitals in 1999-00 was $89.1M. Hospitals also receive additional monies from other sources (eg private donations and research grants) which may be directed to research and teaching.
