(1) Has the Curriculum Council of Western Australia determined how the final percentages will be converted to levels and bands for the 13 individual tertiary entrance examination subjects that will comprise the courses of study in 2007? (2) If yes to (1), will the minister please explain how this conversion will be determined for each of the 13 courses of study? (3) If yes to (1), have schools been notified of the process of this conversion? (4) If no to (1), when will the process of conversion be determined, and when will schools be notified? I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. (1) The TEE courses will be assessed in exactly the same way as they are now. The same processes to determine a tertiary entrance rank will also be used for these courses in 2008. The Curriculum Council is developing a process whereby the result submitted by schools and the existing grades and grade-related descriptors will map to the new course standards. This will ensure that there is public confidence in the comparability between previous and new procedures. (2)-(3) Not applicable. (4) The process for determining levels and bands will be finalised in September, with schools notified by the end of term 3.
