Furthermore, the Government has allocated $322,000 in 2003-04, $870k in 2004-05 and $1.009m in 2005-06 to fund the Police Service for a Specialist Child Interview Unit, the creation of the Australian National Child Offender Register to develop and maintain a Register for Western Australia, and to develop an online covert capability. In addition, $75m was allocated for a whole-of-Government response to the findings of the Gordon Inquiry.
