Mrs. Roberts questions the Minister for Police (also Minister for Road Safety) on the value of late-night train services in preventing drink-driving and why previous questions on agency advice were unanswered. LATE-NIGHT
TRAIN SERVICES — PATRONAGE
23. Mrs M.H. ROBERTS to the
Minister for Police:
I have a
supplementary question. What price does the minister, as Minister for Road
Safety, put on keeping intoxicated people out of their cars and off the roads?
I note that the minister did not answer my previous question on what advice she
received from her agencies.

Everybody in Western
Australia understands and knows that this government is committed to reducing
alcohol-related harm in the community, particularly that caused by
drink-drivers. I have just gone into great detail to explain one of the governmentXXX ###XXXs key initiatives in this space. I
regularly consult with my agencies on a range of issues. Specifically on the
proposed removal of the late-night train service, I have not received specific
advice on that matter from my agencies.
