First, can I correct something I
said in my previous answer. On Sunday, 23 February, I knew that Troy would be
absent from cabinet; the first I actually knew of his breakdown was the meeting
I had with Rachael Turnseck first thing on the Monday morning. I did not know
that on the day, but I knew it the following day. I got that date wrong.
Members of my staff knew nothing of the damage to the vehicle
or the accident, as the Leader of the Opposition referred to, until calls were
received from the police to the Department of the Premier and Cabinet and the
Minister for Police's office at around midday last Sunday. That was the
first that anyone in my office knew of it. On that day, Sunday, 9 March, a
meeting was held with Brian Pontifex, Narelle Cant and Rachael Turnseck.
Rachael Turnseck did confirm what had been around the media that day, and that
was that there was damage to the vehicle.
