On Saturday, 28 June 2003, between Broome and Wilare Bridge on the Great Northern Highway I passed through a police roadblock. I read in the Sunday Times the following day that approximately 100 bikies were pulled over by the police. (1) How many police or law enforcement officers were present in total at the roadblock? (2) How many police vehicles or vehicles used by law enforcement officers in total were present - and did this include an aeroplane? (3) Where were those vehicles sourced from? (4) What was the total cost of the operation by law enforcement officers for the entire time that their presence was required when the bikies rode from Broome to the Western Australian-Northern Territory border checkpoint? (5) Were any bikies arrested for and charged with drug offences? (6) Were any charges laid for misdemeanours? Hon NICK GRIFFITHS
