I thank the member for some notice of this question. The Attorney General provides the following response - (1) Yes. (2) I table the following: a copy of the Chief Justice’s letter addressed to the Director General of the Department of Justice, of which a copy was forwarded to the Attorney General, dated 25 March 2004; a copy of the Attorney General’s response to the Chief Justice, dated 19 April 2004; a copy of a letter from the Chief Justice to the Attorney General, dated 25 September 2002; and a copy of the Attorney General’s response to the Chief Justice, dated 14 October 2002. [See paper No 2479.]
