STRATEGIC INDUSTRIES
FUND
1129. Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS to the minister representing the
Minister for State and Industry Development, Jobs and Trade:
I refer to the budget announcement
of $500 million for a strategic industries fund to unlock development in 13 strategic
industrial areas and to my question without notice 674 of 12 June 2024.
(1) Has funding
allocation of the $500 million fund been finalised; and, if so, what specific
funding allocation has been apportioned across each of the 13 SIAs?
(2) What are the
determining factors and financial matrix to required outcomes applied to arrive
at each of the funding apportionments?
(3) Was there
metropolitan SIA versus regional SIA funding weighting in distributing and
allocating the SIF, and how was this weighting applied and calculated?
(4) How are the state's 13 SIAs prioritised
against each other, and what specific ranking criteria are administered in the prioritisation process?
(5) How much of
the fund will be directed to providing key and desperately needed services of
roads, water, wastewater and power to the Kemerton SIA?
The PRESIDENT : Honourable
member, speaking faster does not make the question shorter.
