EDUCATION —
STUDENT-CENTRED FUNDING MODEL
321. Hon SUE ELLERY to the
Minister for Education:
I refer to the student-centred funding model.
(1) How much
money is set aside to be expended on targeted initiatives in the 2015 school
year and in the financial year 2014–15?
(2) Of the funds
for targeted initiatives, how much is for vocational education and training in
schools in the 2015 school year and how much was sourced from the federal
government as part of the National Partnership Agreement on Universal Access to
Early Childhood Education for the 2015 school year?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) The total
funding set aside to be expended on targeted initiatives in the 2015 school
year is $83.057 million. Targeted initiatives as a specific funding mechanism
for schools did not exist before 2015 and therefore there is not a targeted
initiatives budget for the full 2014–15 financial year.
(2) An amount of
$18 903 211 has been allocated for vocational education and training in schools
in the 2015 school year. An amount of $21 763 000 was sourced from the
commonwealth for the targeted initiative National Partnership Agreement on
Universal Access to Early Childhood Education for the 2015 school year.
