(a) The number of tonnes of salt discharged into the east branch of the
Collie River by Premier Coal Limited is not required to be monitored or
calculated by licence L5094/1987/14.
(b) The salinity limit of the licence was not exceeded during the period 1
July 2011 to 30 June 2012. Premier Coal has not reported any exceedances
of the salinity limit of the licence to the Department of Environment and
Conservation (DEC) since 1 July 2012. Monitoring data required as a
condition of the licence for the period 1 July 2012 to 30 June 2013 is required
to be submitted to DEC by 30 September 2013, and will be assessed by the
department at that time.
(c) The quantity of water discharged from the WO5H void to the
surrounding environment is not required to be measured as a condition of
L5094/1987/14, as the quantity of water discharged from the Premier Coal mine
is managed under licence by the Department of Water.
