❓ The question accuses the Premier of covering up a conflict of interest related to Alinta shares held by the member for Yokine, implying a need for resignation. The Premier's response admits to not focusing on the issue initially but claims action was taken after a question from the Leader of the Opposition.

I refer to the cabinet shares scandal and specifically to the Premier’s consistent refusal to advise when he first knew that the member for Yokine or his wife may have had Alinta shares. Why else would the Premier persistently refuse to answer this simple, unambiguous question unless he was terrified that the truth would prove that he covered up the member for Yokine’s conflict of interest, leaving the Premier with no option but to resign? Last Wednesday I sat down with the former Minister for Sport and Recreation and worked through this issue. I have made it clear on every occasion that when that question was asked in late August, I did not focus on it. In hindsight, I should have, but I did not. The question of the Alinta shares became very clear following the Leader of the Opposition’s question last Wednesday, and that is when we took action on this issue.
