I refer to the three per cent efficiency dividend that the Treasurer has imposed upon all Government Departments, and I ask:
(1) How many times has the Minister met with the Director Generals/Chief Executive Officers of the Departments and Agencies within the Minister’s portfolios to specifically discuss the three per cent efficiency dividend?
(2) How many times has the Minister met with the Treasurer to specifically discuss the ways in which the efficiency dividend could be applied to Departments or Agencies within the Minister’s portfolios?
(3) Has the Minister prepared any submissions to the Economic and Expenditure Review Committee setting out the Minister’s recommendations by which the efficiency dividend will be met within the Departments or Agencies under the Minister’s portfolios; and
(a) if so, how many?

(1) I meet frequently with Directors General/Chief Executive Officers of agencies within my portfolio. At many of these meetings we discuss budgetary/financial issues of which the three percent efficiency dividend would be one.
(2) I have met a number of times with the Treasurer to discuss financial/budgetary issues of which the three per cent efficiency dividend would be one.
(3) Yes
(a) Policy options prepared for possible submission to an Executive body are matters for Government.
