Prior to June 2009, LandCorp was ready to commence development of a further 48 residential lots in East Newman. However, in June 2009 LandCorp received advice that due to a recent Court decision native title required clearance before further residential development could proceed. LandCorp has requested Government approval to negotiate with the Nyiyarparli claimant group to reach a negotiated outcome.
Once agreement is reached LandCorp would be able to release residential lots within 6 - 12 months.
