(a) Business Exit Assistance

(ii) See Attachment 1. The initial payment of 80% is paid on signature of the Deed of Discharge. The balance of 20% is made once the conditions stated in the Deed of Discharge are met.
These conditions may include a requirement for the business to rectify its work site and pay all redundancies in accordance with the relevant Awards. These costs are reimbursed together with accountant's costs incurred in the preparation of the application for Business Exit Assistance.
The amount shown at Attachment 1 is the total amount paid to the business. In the time available, it is not possible to ascertain the exact date that the individual part payments were made as this information is held on individual files.
(iii) To assist businesses to completely or partially leave the Western Australian native forest timber industry where reductions in native forest timber have made the business economically unviable or where exit would facilitate in achieving a balance of resource availability and the processing of that resource.
