Bentley Adolescent Unit (BAU) is the only authorised mental health inpatient unit for children and adolescents in WA. BAU has 12* beds for children and adolescents aged between 12 and 17.
The total number of adolescents admitted to the BAU who were residing in the South West region:
(a) July 2011 - June 2012: 23
(b) July 2012 - June 2013: 16
(c) July 2013 - June 2014: 11
(d) July 2014 - October 2014: 5
*Note: There was a 12 month period when BAU went down to 11 beds with 1 bed transferred to Ward 4H due to renovations in BAU. This was from December 2011 to December 2012
