(1) $2 million is allocated in the 2017-18 State Budget to develop the necessary Business Case and Project Definition Report for the proposed new Midland Train Station. This work will include development of the cost estimate.
(2) To maximise land-use and transport integration for the developing Midland Activity Centre, including new health and education facilities, and to allow for further extension of the line to Bellevue.
(3)-(4) Final land requirements will be subject to the outcomes of the work outlined in (1) above.
(5) It is likely the site would be made available for redevelopment, subject to ongoing discussions with key stakeholders and issues including contamination as a result of its extensive use over many years for railway purposes.
(6) As at 10 October 2017, the Minister’s office has not received approaches regarding the old train station site.
