For all departments, agencies, government trading enterprises or boards within the Minister’s portfolio responsibilities, I ask: (a) Do any have contracts with Baycorp (WA) Pty Ltd or similar debt collection agencies for the recovery of fines, overdue amounts or debts; and (b) if yes to (a): (i) What is the name of the debt collection agency; (ii) What is the total amount currently being recovered by the debt collection agency and how many individual debts does this amount comprise; and (iii) What was the total amount sent for recovery by the debt collection agency in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 to date, and how many individual debts does each of these amount comprise each year?

This answer pertains to contracts with Baycorp (WA) Pty Limited. If the Member has a question about another debt collection agency, I would encourage him to be more specific.

(ii) The total amount currently being recovered is $1,894, relating to one debt.
(iii) In 2015-16 the total amount sent for recovery was $12,110, relating to five debts. In 2016-17 the total amount sent for recovery was $10,743, relating to one debt. For 2017-18, nil. In 2018-19 the total amount sent for recovery was $1,894, relating to one debt.
